You are looking at the back of a 2004 headlamp. I have started working on the conversion, trying to do the most I can by my part so I can save some $$$ on the bodywork.

Ok...I know what to do with the 4 sockets for running lights, turning signal, highs, and hid.....but what about that thing circled...looks like it is used to adjust the lights but it also has a socket clip on the bottom..is it a relay..what goes there!??!

will greatly appreciate any bodies help...thanks

Guess: Is that the automatic levelers? I think they are legally required to have with HIDs.

Probably wants power and ground.

Is there a little level bubble on top too?

Isn't that the mechanism used to put the lighbeam higher or lower depending on the load in the back of the car?? If you don't have a switch for that in USA maybe you do have the mechanism because they don't want to make different headlight assy?

Do you have the install manual as I don't have mine. About the gray colour rubber seal for the HID do you push it in fully or just the outer ring that you have to stretch in. And when you are done with yours please tell us how you reroute the wire for the signal lamp. Thanks in advance.

speedyizzy, here is a pic of the backside of the headlight in a 02 model. Hope this helps.

** Although it has not happened to me, I have been informed that some people that have done the 02 headlight mod have experienced condensation buildup problems in their headlight for not sealing them in a dry environment. Can anyone attest to this?

Thanks for the input guys. I saw that picture (yellow 02) earlier...however the pictures dont show if any wires run to that output.

Regarding the grey rubber seal...that is not for the HID..that goes around the high beams...u then insert the halogen over it...my original pic shows that. There is a cirucular ring seal and a cap that goes over the HID. Ignitor wire comes out at bottom and is sealed with a gasket and ballast.

Car is off to the bodyshop..i found a reputable place that will charge $525 for a 6000k HID kit installed.

I would still like to hear from any 02+ owners if anything suppose to run to that little module.

I am doing the entire coversion..with original marga hills side skirts and replica bumper, HID US spec headlights, carbon fiber hood..all for about 3K in parts plus 1525 paint & body. I am still in school, so I dont have as many resources as some of you guys...doing it on a budget...i'll do a write up on it...

Thanks,
Israel

Izzy,

This is a long shot, but could that thing be some sort of exhaust fan or aspirator fan to keep the lights from fogging up in rainny days?

Henry.
