What is the stock exhaust pipe diameter?

Hello.

I'd like to install an aftermarket exhaust; however, due to circumstances beyond my control (wife), I can't afford it. So, what I'd like to do is save my lunch money and buy some aftermarket exhaust tips to make it appear as though I have spent big $$ on a new exhaust system. The exhaust tips come in different diameters (2 1/2, 3"). I've measured the best that I could and get 2 1/2". Can someone confirm my estimate? Thanks bunches.

Do you know of another Green-Black roof NSX??

Hi Liteso: just did the same thing - hated the stock oval tips on my 93 & they had to go for my 02 rear bumper retro, which won't accommodate them anyway. I got mine at good old PeP Boys - they have a surprisingly good selection. I measured the stock pipe exits just now for you (bumper & tips currently off the car so piece of cake) at exactly 1 7/8" O.D. (be careful with the diameter quoted - there is finished (exit) diameter & input pipe diameter).
The ones I bought are a single slant tip, nice chrome finish, 3" at the exit. They have 3 adjustable brackets that clamp onto the pipe, kinda like the original clamp times 3! They also had some dual tips if you're into that. I'll sell you mine if you like - very day after I bought them I ended up buying a used Comptech!!! I would probably go with a bigger diameter however as on stock bumper, the gap is pretty wide for a narrow single tip - 4 or 4 1/2 would be good, or dual. Also with the narrower tip, you can see the clamps if you look at right angle.
They have a god selection on jcwhitney, but pretty expensive compared to PB. (Some of these on JCW site are actually at PB e.g. Borla)

You can probably get weld ons done at Midas or like, but be careful that close to the bumper - bolt on safer & reversible if you sell stock exhaust down the road.

Man, lighten up - I'm sorry for your problems, but you already recognize the site has access problems this evening: posting multiple messages, especially on unrelated threads is not the way to go to garner help however.
Please be patient, wait till the access problem is resolved & I'm confident the good people will advise you appropriately.
