I have 1086, It was originally bought in Nov. 1990. It must be one of the oldest in the US. I think that the lower vins must have stayed in Japan.
Does anyone know of an older one?

From the FAQ:
For the US VIN numbers, the first 1991 car available for sale was 000063; all lower numbers were pre-production prototypes.
Just to clarify - that VIN (MT000085) is the earliest one reported by a member of the NSX Club of America, and is owned by a club member who is also a member of the e-mail lists and lives in Georgia. Other low VINs owned by club members include MT000092, MT000094, and MT000098 (hi nik3sgte ). The cars with VINs from MT000063 through MT000084 are probably still out there, but their owners have not joined the club or have not reported their VIN when joining.Vytas said:Going back to my NSX Driver issues (Spring 2001 - "10 Years After"), the earliest known US NSX is #000085 originally purchased new in North Carolina. Delivery was taken in September 1990.

They use 8 for Canada because they thought the Canadians say that number at the end of every sentence. I guess they mis-heard slightly.Soichiro said:The 8 means Canadian market spec
