Ok I know I'm opening a big can of worms.

I've own to 91 one 92 with the o-ring problem

a 93 and 94 and one of the purple automatic 95.

I'm thinking of getting another NSX and want some people who owned 95 and newer what would be the best one. With the exception of the new 91. I have not paid over 40k for any of my NSX and has sold them close to what I paid. Only losing the cost of tires, upkeep and insurance. Been canceled by three insurance company because they wanted to charge me more because of the NSX.

Looking at 96,97,98,99. Any suggestions?

NO AUTO. Targa was nice but not used.

Less problem ones.

don't offer to sell me yours. I'm sure I'll find it in the listing if you are wanting to sell it. Just your option on the one you own or what you have found?

Thank in advance...

I agree with Shumdit, the Zandari really offers the best of both worlds IMO. 97+ style coupe that is very similar to the Type S in Japan. I've never actually driven one though :frown: .

I believe there were 50 made in '99... they're red coupes. Happy hunting

91-94's are the best unless you prefer t-top.

Are you outside the United States? Are you asking what year 96-99 coupe is the one to get?
If so, the FAQ will tell you about emissions changes that were added, steering/brake changes etc.

Way off topic:

Also a side note to Prime members:
Collectors, speculators and enthusiasts that "never got around to it" may start to show up.
(Actually, I fit somewhere in there as well -enthusiasts that "never got around to it )
Lots of media coverage lately on the final year of the NSX. (Instant classic)
This could ignite a renewed interest and be the turning point in the depreciation of the early cars.
(Notice, I said may)
I started hearing rumors of its possible demise in March, and it was enough to get me off the bench.
I was actually shocked to find out how much car you can get for 30-40k.

Its just a matter of time, supply and demand will take control and we will look
back and remember "The good old days"
I have seen it happen to several cars and not one of them is as deserving as the NSX.

I'm in The US. Dallas Texas.

I was thinking of getting a Zanadai. Just wanted some opions out there.

Thanks for you Input. You know sometimes you just need a nudge to push you to purchase what you want but is not 100% sure.

I would like the PS but I can live without it.

I would go for the Zanardi if you are looking for what is probably the best all around NSX that the United States ever had available for purchase. The Zanardi is one that I still would like to get when I can find one without any 'stories'.

05'.

Apart from having more hp, bigger brakes, better header design, H.I.D's, it is also the last year of production with low numbers. This may be the most desirable model year in the near future.

If money is an object, a 97+ is a smart choice. Good luck finding a Zanardi, though.

Best of Luck.

the best year is 1991.
you have velvet lined A-pillars instead of rubber peices(95+)
you have power lock switches on both doors
you get the awesome motorola cell phone
you have a larger spaced glove compartment
you get 3 sun visors instead of 2 puny ones.
you have that awesome electric supercharger (located on the right side of the engine bay)
Taitec exhausts are louder and more agressive on 91's than 04's with the same exhaust.
the insurance is cheaper
the registration is cheaper
resale value doesnt drop like newer models

What he said

A Zanardi is a great choice - especially if you prefer a coupe over the t-top. You'll get the improvements of the '97+ cars plus a firmer suspension, less weight, unique interior appointments including a cool "numbered plate" identifying the car of one of 50 Zanardi editions. You also get special BBS wheels which visually set the car apart (but I have never liked so I run a set of 18"SSR's). Wasn't quite sure about a loud red color initially but fell in love with it at first sight. Good luck!

1991. Best value and you can add everything else the other ones have (except the targa) if you feel like it.

And how much would you have in a 91 if you wanted a passenger side airbag, P/S, 3.2, 6 speed, larger brakes, wheels/tires, etc??

Less than half the cost of a 2005 ;) and that's buying OEM parts I bet.

Personally:
P/S - don't need
3.2 - Supercharger, call it a day.
6speed - overrated, see supercharger
larger brakes - buy something aftermarket that's better like willwood
wheel/tires - everyone does that with every year of car.

I can't afford a 2005 either..so I'm probably biased.

How so? The 6-speed is a huge improvement. If you think it is overrated, you must not have driven one.

I've only ridden in a 6-speed personally (went for a rip with Pixelhaus one time), so I can't say I have drive time experience. My point was if you're boosting there isn't much point for doing a 6-speed upgrade. A long 2nd under boost ain't so bad. I was merely referring to the prospect of buying all the newer 'upgrades'. 6-speed would be overrated based on what I would do if I had a 91-94 in my hands again, since I would be boosting. I wasted enough dough on NA with other Honda's I've had back in the day. I seem to remember Factor X saying something 6-speed not being recommended for boost, especially if you are aiming for above average blown output.

Changing the final drive gears is a better option than paying for a six speed.IMO

and who the hell wants a pass airbag?..it adds weight and makes it so my 5 year old cant ride in the "race car"...
