I am looking to get aftermarket wheels upgrading from my 1991 OEM. I want to know how big I can go with the rim (also the tire). I want to be very careful because I do not want anything to rub.

Hello. I would say that the safest rear wheel/tire combo that won't rub is a 19x10 with 275/30/ZR19 tire. Of course, you will need to get the wheel with the proper offset, hopefully at least +40. My $0.02

The rears are easy,up to 285 width will fit with proper offset but not too many folks go 19 most are 18in, 265 width is popular. The front is tougher,235 is widest and that will rub slightly on 3/4 to full lock.More important is the aspect ratio the second number in the size.40 series is what you need to fit 235.225 can be done at 45 but only in 16 in wheel. In 17in you need 40 or 35 series although 215/45/17 might work.Due your home work to match the rolling diameter of the front to rear to maintain the tcs and abs,you can search these topics.

Also take in consideration if you plan on lowering the car, I am at stock height and running 225/35/18 on the fron and I rub alot!! but on the back 275/35/18 I have no problems
