Im looking for a racing seat thatll fit me since i dont want to order them and not be able to fit. im bout 6 foot with 38" waist what are some of the bigger racing seats? i dont have alot of money to spend but something in the $500 range would be good. any suggestions?

I'm 6'4 with a 36 waist. I have Sparco Evo and they are OK. There is an EVO 2 which is bigger still. However, I doubt they will fit the NSX, as my EVOs just fit.

I think a Corbeau Forza II seat would work well for you. I bought a pair for of the Forza series seats for a track car I co-owned a couple years ago, one was the Forza II (wider for my partner with 38" waist) and a regular Forza I... and only used the Forza I (I am 32 waist)
Anyhow, I have the Forza II seat in my shop and it has been used once, I will sell it to you for $200 if you decide you like them!:)

What type of mounting rail are you using for your EVO?
Do you get more head room from these seats?

This might work for you. Safe, reliable, reinforced, but not that light. :D

Recaro Pole Position and Sparco Pro 2000 would be my recommendations. Both these seats will fit our new rails we have developed that are in production now. If my car is put togther in time, you will be able to test fit them on the NSXPrime drive.

Cheers,

While at XPO last year, I hopped in Ed's car (NSX Builder) because he is a large fella too. I'm 6'-3" with a 38 waist. He had some Jamex seats, and they fit like a glove. Problem is, I don't think they are available any longer. They were cheap too! Because I decided to retain and modify my OEM seats, I pursued no further. One place you might want to check out is Air Dynamic Racing. Let us know how the search goes.

Chris,
Your new rails are revised version of TAITEC rails currently listed on SoS page? Do the new ones come with blue lever rather than red ball lever found on the current ones? TAITEC guy told me that Recaro Pole Position won't fit even with the new rails.

I'm 6'4" with a 38 waist and I use the EVO2 seat for the track (in the Civic) and fit comfortably in it. Even comfortable enough for the 2.5 hour drive up the freeway to one of the tracks, but it's not convient to use for a daily driver. Unless you're really limber, it's easier to remove the steering wheel (quick release) and then get out of the car, but with the higher thigh supports, you have to get up & out first before you can get out of the car (grabbing onto a cage helps me). As for it fitting into a NSX, I took measurements and it'll fit just fine from side to side.... was thinking about making some custom brackets for the next track day and to take the NSX this time. The EVO series seats do sit low (if you use custom brackets) so that'll give you more clearance for your helmet, where as with the stock seat I have a hard time with a helmet on and sitting comfortably.

well i went down to super autobacs today and sat in some seats and my favorite was the red bride one that was fake leather i think.

other ideas...

I used to have similar girth, but decided to take the high road and drop the weight. Dropped from a 40-42" waist to a 34-36". Easier said than done...

Sparco EVO2 is one of the better "big boy" seats. IMO a bit too big for many folks. It will NOT fit a stock NSX -- its width across the seat will hit the OE center console panels. I've seen it fit into stripped down racecars (e.g., PD's RTR NSX # 42).

The Momo Acropolis Evolution carbon kevlar seat is another alternative. Lamborghini OEMed a leather-covered version for their limited Diablo GTR. I believe NSX fitments (rails, etc) are available from SoS and others.
