see.. the cold air intake is like replace the OEM pipe and place a larger funnel like to let more air in rite?

what if I dump the OEM and leave it blank.. would it perform same as a aftermarket funnel intake? since theres no more "restrictions"

Are you thinking about removing the OEM intake and filter and exposing your engine to all the dirt, grime, water splashig up, etc.?

BTW - been following this board for years and nobody - and I mean nobody has shown a measurable increase in performance from doing anything different then stock on the intake (other then forced induction I should say)

then how come the aftermarket funnel like works?

Using a cold air aftermarket intake yet retain the stock air filter? I don't understand the advantage(?) to doing that.

thats what i've got done stock air box with the cold air down pipe with a k&n filter works well and sounds better too.
