I am not familiar with the NSX set up. I have not located a write up or anyone's experiences (expect McCain on the LSD install). I have a couple questions:

1. Is this a DIY or do I need special tools?

2. It's going into a '91 NSX with a 6spd so I do not think I need extra parts other than:

Oil Pump Shaft 21173-PR8-J00
Countershaft 23220-PR8-T00
Final Driven Gear 41233-PR8-J00

Is this correct?

It takes time, hydrolic press, bearing separator, shop manuel, complete set of tools, and clean working area. Not really DIY, unless you are above average in mechanical skills. Most line techs in dealership do not have much experience in handle this kind of work. OTOH, It is possible for a determined owner to do this at home. It just takes time, alot of it. HTH. Eiffel.

Tony, If you never done trans a trans overhaul, I would not try and learn on this one. It is not the most difficult one in the world, but it is also not as easy as it may seem to do, and do right.
You will need all the tools that EIFFEL mentions, plus a way to support and safely hold the pinion shaft for tourqing LH thread nut. The press will require a fairly crisp bearing seperator for pinion shaft dissambley and diff bearings.

If you go for it, and want any advise, let me know.

Thanks for the input guys, it sounds like I do not have the equipment and more importantly, the time to take this project on. I guess I will give Acura of Augusta a call and see if they can do it.
