WMHM11 was great this year!!! The turnout was amazing and so was the weather!

The Gingerman Maintenence crew thanked me for my services. Cold tires, off at 110mph.

On the second day of the event, Marty, a Porsche GT3 owner, asked if we wanted to "play".

"Why certainly! Would you like to chase or be chased?"

"I'll chase", was Marty's response.

Here is the video. Raw, unedited. Language warning at the end.

The NSX begins to overheat after about 5 hard laps, so I point the GT3 by at around 10 minutes to keep from spraying his car with coolant. The factory radiator just isn't keeping up any longer. We have plans.

Running about 460WHP in this video, 8psi. The factory engine that came out of DucatiCraig's 1995 now has 185,000 miles. As you can see, these miles are far from nice! We just can't kill this thing!

A small video from one of the wet sessions.

And a great compilation video of the WMHM11 event overall.

Thanks for looking guys! Anyone in the midwest should attend this event if possible, even for spectating. There are always great cars, and it's a very laid-back atmosphere!

Thanks for posting those fun videos

I was going to ask what tires you were running, but the wheelspin made sense once it was revealed that coolant was burping onto the rears!
We have wanted to check out the WMHM's in the past, but it's always been a conflict with something else too fun to miss.

We were able to take your old shop car to Waterford for the Vintage weekend to catch some touring sessions, and since the sound restrictions for that event were lifted could run that beast with the baffle out.
Trust me, minds were blown

Great vids to watch. And it was kinda refreshing to watch the unedited vid.

Thanks for sharing, Cody. Keep up the good work you're doing with the NSX.

Thanks guys.

Good to hear the beast is still in use Brian! Rear tires were BFG R1. Got them as take-offs last minute. Fronts are r888. My oversteer issues weren't due to coolant as I had a liter-o-cola catch can for the overflow. Its either related to the tires, too much frontal downforce, too much throttle trying to squeeze a good corner exit speed, or a combination of all three.

More underbody aero underway. Side skirts, finishing flattening the tub, finishing rear diffuser, and potentially building a new rear wing from scratch(can am influenced Brian!).

Once I iron some technicalities, I'm considering running the car in the nations second oldest race next year. My facebook friends keep quiet, but any guesses? ;-)

Nice job Cody. The NSX sounds awesome. It was nice to see you loose the GT3 without a problem. I don't know if it was just me, but it seemed like he was making up ground during breaking. I'm no expert but it also looked like your line was much better, using the full width of the track. Anyways it looked like tons of fun. Just out of curiosity, were you burning oil? I noticed several puff of blue smoke while you were toying around with the GT3. Also, what is the oil consumption like on the NSX stock and with boost generally?

Note: I don't have an NSX yet, I'm in the process of saving for one. Just trying to learn as much as I can about this awesome car. I have more experience with the H and B series engines. Thanks to Prime I have already learned a great deal

The engine in the shop car has 185,000 hard miles on it; it will puff every now and then, especially when its overheating(which it was indeed getting hot after about 7 minutes in that video iirc). With this kind of mileage on the motor, I'm happy it's still running as well as it is!

Despite a few puffs, it still doesn't use any noticeable amount of oil. I change it twice per year and has yet to need a top-off between changes, despite several track days.

To answer your question, oil consumption should not increase with a turbocharger.

And yes, with the GT3 on wider Hoosiers(no DOT tag present), the GT3 was much faster than me in low-speed corners and breaking. I was faster everywhere else.

Sure wish I could fit 275s on the front of the NSX...

Thanks Rob! I can't kill this motor, so we decided to push forward with chassis testing before winter when the real power production begins!
