So my buddies girlfriend got VIP passes to the Lloyd Banks concert here in Barrie. We get to the college and the line up had about 500 people init. So i goto the front because I had the Vip Pass, and the guy says that we all have to get searched before entering. I guess I can't say I didn't expect it. Anyways they took my lighter but not my smokes, but they took my buddies smokes and lighter. Then it was madatory coatcheck, and all the women with heels had to take them off and check them. Now that is just stupid! So i ask them if there is any glass being served in there, they say no, so we make are way in. It ends up the tickets my buddies gf got were no good. She got it from some guy at Z1035 and the guy took 2 Tickets that were double sided and ripped them into 4. Needless to say it was a bit to much and we haven't even got in yet. So they end up working out the ticket issues and get in, first thing the girls see is other girls wearing there heels. Female instinct; they flipped out, went to the lady with shoes, gave her shit and got there shoes back. Oh yeah, the doors opened at 8 got in around 830 - 845, Lloyd Baks was supposed to show up at 930, didn't show till midnight. The sound system was the biggest POS system i have ever heard. Nothing but bass and distortion. Oh and did i mention that EVERYONE had a VIP pass, so there was no section blocked off, or anything. On top of all this BS they weren't serving any booze AT ALL. And there were no in and outs. Everything was BS. Now I know why I used to bounce at these events and not attend. If i had paid for those tickets i would have asked for my money back. When Lloyd Banks came on, I couldn't understand a thing he was saying (I'm not old, i'm 22), the sound system was absolute garbage. After all that we ended up leaving 10 minutes after Lloyd Banks went on stage.
I don't think I will ever goto a concert like that again....
Have any of you had an experience like this?

Who's Lloyd Banks?

Rap concerts are weird in my opinion,

every one just stands around.

And no drinks, awwww man!

I try and stick to the rock and metal concerts.

I have had this experience many times. That is why I only go to underground shows anymore. It seems to as if they respect their fans and they really know how to give a show. I once went to an E-40 concert before he was big with little john and he was 3 hours late. It was the same type concert that you went to. When I left I couldn't even hear because the sound system was crap. He was on stage for all of 4 song's where he only did a part of the song. Do these guys not realize that these people travel to the concert and pay money to see them. No one wants to sit there waiting for them for hours. I just don't support these type artists anymore. If the artist just realize that everyone is going to remember their show when their next album comes out I bet they would be a little more concerned.

He is a rapper from G-Unit.

Meh. Not my bag baby.

I'd rather listen to CD's in my NSX kicking out that 10" Earthquake and my door mounted Focals via my dual amp system hidden in my trunk ( where the tool box used to be ).........
And the high heels don't have to....but usually come off anyway............ Yeah....That's what I'm talking about..................

I am simply too important to:
1) Be searched
2) Give up things I'm carrying with me to anyone
3) My wife takes off her shoes - not happening
4) Wait more than 30 mins for the concert to start

If I need to lower my self respect to to entertain myself something is pretty f$%ked up. Perhaps I'm old (38) but I've always considered myself as important as the guy on stage - without me (and others like me), there would be no audience - if they don't realize that they can't have me!

Thats one of the contributing factors as to why I don't like Rap.
The others include:
1) Encouraging social disorder
2) Disrespect to women
3) Glorifying illegal behaviour

When a rapper makes it big he is never a role model and helper to the people in the poor neighbourhoods he comes from, instead, he gets the most expensive car, dresses up in as many diamonds he can find and tells everyone he's got "street cred" from dealing, pimping, shooting, being shot, etc. He shows these kids with so little hope that he's living a life they likely can't and then encourages them to waste their lives: Get Rich or Die Trying.

What BS!

It is ridiculous these days.....Whats even more funny is that these kids act all hardcore, put a real gun in their face and they'll $hit bricks....

Its true - but all of a sudden they all want guns as fashion statements and then soon enough someone's getting shot for something totally stupid.

Being a bit of a gun guy I know how powerful you can feel carrying a handgun - this is NOT for the uneducated, immature or niave (which catagorises most of the gun toters in the USA)

Alot of blunting gong on? I went to the last Wu-Tang concert right before ODB died and I had an awesome time. I went with all my friends from high-school and it was kind of like a re-union. It was good, except I was so intoxicated I had to call out of work the next day.

I think that most of these events now are a little mroe dangerous then before. The last 50 cent concert they had here in Toronto someone was shot. I have worked at some events and they were never like this, everyone is out trying to have a good time, then there are some that are looking for trouble. These guys get paid way too much for wayy too little. I'm gald I can download there CD and not have to goto the store and pay for it...that is my way of sticking it to them....

Can't agree more. Yes, I do pay for a small percentage of my music but have yet to pay a penny for a rap album or song. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the music but it gets old so fast.

When was the last time you heard a rock band or any other music genre where they call out their own names in each and every one of their songs? Retarded...
