Is anyone on this forum in So. Cal (OC or LA) capable of welding, Stainless Steel and 6061-T6 aluminum?

Thanks in advance for your help.

In general, you do not weld two dissimilar materials. 6061 has a lower melting temperature than stainless steel and the weldment (the weld-bead) is going to crack due to different thermal expansion (heating and cooling) properties. Most likely, you need to use fasteners.

Taj ~ I'm not welding the two metals together. I have two different projects one 6061 and the other ss.

Thanks.
