Weird spam mail

So I got this spam mail, I don't remember what the subject was, but this was the body:

bodice Ackley Konrad backwards bilinear
cooking grooming hampers sinks Taurus
http://split.boosdfdsfsdfsdsam.info/?jgrfhixwqovyfjpbwwzpokmcnso Frankel detectives activation accepting sport
palladium sniffed Daniels compounded shock

Now I put some random letters in the link so it wouldn't work if someone felt compelled to go to it, but what are all the random words for? In the email the link was visible and half of the other stuff was in a very faint font and the other I couldn't see until I highlighted it. Anyone know the significance of this jibberish?

Anyone know how to block this kind of spam?
I get two different repeated mailings (many many!) that appear to be images embedded in the body as opposed to an attachment or text that could be filtered - these are for cialis/viagra etc and for rolex watches. Always different sender (so blocking the address doesn't help) and bogus subject lines.

Help me get rid of this annoyance!

The random words are to get past spam filters (utilizing Bayesian technology), which look for key words that indicate that the email is spam. Since the gibberish words are not possibly in the spam filter, they get through.

I wouldn't worry about it.

ooooooo, vvvvvvery tricky

OK - getting closer

At the command prompt, cd to Perl directory then run ppm enter - I get a ppm> prompt but when I enter the various "install" lines, it says
Error : connect : Unknown error

??

They probably gave you a Trojan Horse and can now sell your computer as a spam zombie.
No, rootkits are the way to go now. Trojan horses are old technology. ;)

D'Ecosse - I'm not very knowledgeable about PERL, so I can't help you further. Sorry.

Are you using Outlook or Outlook Express? Have you tried Thunderbird? Also Cloudmark is a commercial spam filter that is highly regarded by many users. Good luck.

I regularly run trend micro anti spyware as well as my virus protection so I'm confident it's clean from that perspective.
I don't think this is any different from any e-mail address that once it is recognized get proliferated.

Thanks for link on Thunderbird - I had been using outlook express. I've installed it so we'll see how it goes.

Incidentally our work server uses MessageLabs spam filter on our Outlook client & does a stellar job! It has made a tremendous difference since installed recently.

Glad to help.

Thunderbird is very well regarded. I've installed it on a PC at home and really like it. Good luck with it.

Thanks for the tip - I've been running it for about 10 days now & it is really doing a great job of filtering all the stuff that my e-mail server (Comcast) & outlook express previously let through!
This is catching the majority of it. If one or two have made it through so far, I just mark them "junk" & the Thunderbird has a learning feature that will recognize similar in future.
I have been sending the instantly recognized junk to the junk folder, just so I could keep track of how much & what the content is - I'm already pretty much confident in it to just automatically deep-six the crap immediately!

Very nice program!

i use something free called popfile http://popfile.sourceforge.net/
once you train it, it's pretty accurate. here are my stats since i last reset the tracker (granted it only knows messages are misclassified if you tell it and i only do that sporadically, but it's so good i really don't need to do it more often than that).

Messages classified: 25,542
Classification errors: 139
Accuracy: 99.45%
