Weird A/C Problem

My '91 has developed a weird A/C problem. When I start the car, the A/C comes on normally, but the system shuts off within a few seconds. The entire control panel goes dark.

This sequence repeats every time I start the car. Is this a relay problem?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Your problem is neither weird or uncommon, it's time to have your climate control unit repaired.
