Washi Gray Center Caps?

I just put a set of 2002+ OEM wheels on my 1991 Berlina Black. They are painted Washi Gray, as per the JDM Type S. They look incredible! Problem is, I can't find matching center caps. I suspect matching center caps from Japan will be about a million $ and a 3 month wait lol.:biggrin: Even assuming I could order the caps from Japan, they will have an "H" not an "A." I'm keeping my NSX in Acura livery, so any ideas on how I can get a reasonably matching center cap that fits and has the "A"?

My thought is to try and swipe the caps from a TL Type S, which has similar colored wheels. It won't be an exact match, but much better than the OEM NSX caps, which are bright silver. Has anyone tried this?

Also, I thought to grab some silver caps from an RSX and shoot them with a semi-transparent smoke paint until they darken close enough to the gray to look passable.

But, do RSX or TL caps even fit 2002+ NSX wheels? Thanks!

We can get these for you (obviously, they will have the H logo on them). If you need a set, just drop us a line.

Alternatively, if you want the A, you could have yours sprayed to match, then have a decal placed on the cap.

Not that I am aware of - you can paint the factory ones however.

you can get them from any honda dealer or online. you need to order the 2008 s2000 CR (not base model) center caps. they are washi grey.

Also for those of you with 2002 nsx wheels that want to replace your acura logos with honda H's the 2008 s2000 (base model) center caps are perfect

The 2006 RSX Type-S caps look pretty similar to the S2000 CR. Even if not Washi Grey, will the RSX caps fit the 2002+ NSX wheels? They're about $20 less each! I want to keep the "A" instead of "H" on the car.

You sure those are Washi gray? I was told they weren't. The Zanardi wheels were painted Washi and those look a lot darker.

I hear ya! Since I couldn't find the Washi gray and the OEMs would cost $200 plus shipping I had my wheels painted in the closest match I could find and had the center caps painted to match.

The Acura A's come off easily and I had red honda emblems made to match and slapped those babies right. I couldn't get the Honda center caps from my S2K wheels to fit on the NSX wheels when they were on the NSX but they had no problem fitting when I put my NSX wheels on the S2K. Weird huh

That is really strange. I got some 04 TL caps from Ebay for $6 and they are just slightly too small. They are the silver caps with the black recessed "A" and there is about an extra 1mm of clearance when I go to fit them to the NSX. The 2006 RSX caps share the same part number prefix as the NSX 2002+, but have a different suffix. That makes me think they might fit? Maybe?

My other thought was to find some generic Autozone-style caps that fit and figure out a way to decal and/or paint the "A" onto them, since I'm going to paint the whole thing anyway like you did. There has got to be a solution that costs less than $200 here!

btw the s2000 cr caps fit perfectly (saw the size issue in one of the above posts.) i know this because i have tested the cr caps in my 02+ nsx wheels.

Ah good to know. I'd tried using the center caps from my 06 and they didn't fit but have not tried the CR caps. Good stuff!

You know, maybe I'll just get the S2000 caps and paint them. They're half the price of the NSX caps. I could either lay a black "A" decal on them and then seal with a clearcoat, or grab some of the raised "A" emblems and paint it black chrome....

The Zanardi center caps are Washi Gray. Have you tried to see if those will fit on the 2002+ wheels? They look like they just might.
