Washer motor test/replacement

My windshield washer motor doesn't seem to be working... I checked the fuse and the relay as described in the manual and they are fine, but the motor doesn't actually make any noise once the relay clicks on so I suspect it is just dead.

I did notice that the reservoir is full of water rather than real washer fluid which I assume is what killed it.

The service manual (23-297) says to remove the front bumper to extract the washer motor, but that's not really something I have the time/tools/skill for so I was wondering if there is another way to get it out.

Can I remove just the motor, or are the motor and the reservoir a single assembly that would all have to come out at once? I'd like to drain the water and replace with proper wiper fluid before I go replacing the motor.

You may want to check that your spray nozzles are not plugged before you dig to much further.

Open the hood and remove the rubber hose from the nozzle and then try your washer pump again and see if you get fluid from the hose.

For a while I was hearing the motor but there was nothing coming out - so I assume the nozzles and hoses are also clogged and will need to be cleaned.

However, now I don't even hear the motor anymore - just the relay clicking on and off.

Test for voltage at the washer motor by completing the circuit with either a test light or multimeter. Have an assistant operate the motor by pulling back on the washer switch in the car. If the test light illuminates, or the multimeter shows battery voltage when the switch is activated, then you know it's the motor. If you don't see the test light illuminate or multimeter show battery voltage, you need to troubleshoot the circuit before the motor.

As far as removing the motor without removing the bumper, I don't think it is possible. There is hardly any room between the reservoir and core support.

As this is my first time working on the NSX electrical system, I am having some trouble pulling out the 2-P connector - I don't want to force it and break something, is there a release tab or something somewhere that I need to press down on?
