Hey guys, thot I'd make a suggestion for the cruises. My wife bought her and I a pair of walky talky's last year in HK, and it has made shopping with her and her friends MUCH more enjoyable! This meaning I don't have to hang with her and her girlfriends when they go buy women's attire! She also has this friend who is fairly LARGE, and asks me how she looks in lingerie.(eeekkkk!!) Now I can go roam around while they go do their 'girly' things, and if she needs me, just a click of a button and we can hook up(I try to talk like a military personel(Over! Roger that!, etc...), and she kills me with her doing the same with a Chinese accent! LOL). This works extremely well for when inside a deparment store when cel phone reception has it's limits. I've cruised a few yrs back with walky talky's and it's great fun. Much easier than picking up a cel phone and trying to dial a #, and wait for the pick up, let alone trying to find the dam phone to pick up myself while driving.
We have a set from Oregon Scientific, but for some reason I don't see this product on the U.S website, as we got these in Hong Kong(http://www.oregonscientific.com.hk/). Range is around 5km with open air, and around 500meters with concrete in between. We have the PT380, which is the bigger size, but longer range. Takes batteries, so incase you can replace anytime and convenient.
