VIS Carbon Fiber Hood

That is a good question... I am interested too. I have a friend who is working on a group buy for the VIS Carbon Fiber hood and wanted to know if anyone has gotten it and what they thought about it.

I have not seen the NSX version but have for other vehicles.
It is not true carbon fiber but fiberglass with what looks like unidirectional fiberglass or carbon fiber laid over top.
If a OEM NSX hood for fit and finish is a 10 then the VIS is a 6-7 IMO.
Some pinholes, bubbles and fit issues. If having a custom or carbon fiber look is important to you I think the VIS is about as good as they get. The Taitec stuff is the best aftermarket stuff for fit and finish IMO. Check the VIS products out in person at a import show and then decide if it is for you.

Hello... I had the VIS "Carbon Fiber" hood on my car, and have since traded it off for a stock hood. Finish on the hood was decent as far as the CF look, but the gel coat was a little too wavy IMO. Fit wasn’t anything to brag about... it gaped nicely near the windshield /upper fenders, but it seemed to narrow toward the front of the fenders a little, and through the front of the hood fit nicelyc near the bumper cover, the area around the headlights was gapped about 1/3 of an inch, too sloppy in my opinion! It is a CF layer over fiberglass, and light weight, but I am sure there are much better products on the market if you look.;)

Thanks for the Heads up Guys... Look is important and quality when it comes to my NA1. So I probably will wait on it. If it is for my DC2 than that is another oppinion. Thanks everyone.

If you are looking for a QUALITY carbon fiber hood then I would say the Fiber Images hood has them all beat on quality and fitment, it is the same measurements as the stock hood and will fit the same, the finish is a 10 and the color of the carbon a 10, also they are 100% carbon fiber and not an overlay.
