What are respectable lap times for an NSX at VIR on street tires. I am curious as to what one could expect to run there. What are the track times in ranges such as novice 2:40-2:55 intermediate 2:20-2:40 and advance 2:10-2:20? How much time would you reduce the time by for a forced induced car. If you were to run track tires what reduction would you expect. I saw on online via searches times for other kinds of cars but I think most of those were on track tires.

I think a good driver with R-comps and coilovers (With a Wing or NSX-R wing) could do a sub 2:10 while street tires would be 2-5 seconds slower than that. Intermediate drivers would probably be in the 2:20-2:40 range as you stated.

FWIW: A stock RX8 on street tires did a 2:23. S2000 with a wing and R6 Hoosiers did a 2:08.

Looking at Harry's Laptimer here are a few time from the last few events.

Usually you can figure that the average Harry's user is not the fastest guys at the track as the fast "track only" cars usually have something like a track-mate lapping system for data collection. But I find that the info on Harry's is helpful at establishing the middle of the pack.

Another thing is at VIR Aero plays a very big role in track times.

Thanks for the info so far. My best lap was a 2:23 on street tires, no wing, street pads oem calipers, supercharged. When I assemble my best splits without traffic I ran a 2:18. I am very competitive with myself so want to know how much I am improving compared to how much the mods I am doing are helping me. Next time at vir I will have front stoptechs track pads and possibly coilovers. May add a wing as well.

My personal best is in the 2:18.xxx range, done at XPO earlier this fall. That's street tires, stock motor (with H&E), no aero, stock brakes (KW V3s, Swaybars, HP+ pads). I wasn't in "kill mode" given it was a social event, not a TT, and definitely left some time out there with mistakes as well (even without the T4 hiccup that's apparently on the video), so I'd say a legitimate pro driver would have at least a few seconds on me in my own car. I'd say low teens would be possible with light mods like I have in ideal conditions. So maybe a little quicker than that with an SC?

Also, I'll qualify all of this by saying that benchmarks are very useful, but the main thing for me is to make sure I'm improving and not regressing with any driving changes I make (or mods for that matter).

sadly there are no "public" timing devices allowed at xpo(insurance issues)...so I have no idea how I was doing for my first time....all i know is I was keeping pace with the two instructors one in the M coupe the other in the older bimmer with the Japanese motor transplant.
