Viper in my Garage...now NSX related

I didn't know camaro's had unibody spoilers

I love both cars too- both are different in many ways..depends on personal preference..that Blue/white was my original choice other than an NSX- but I decided to wait a few years and needed the high revving sounds behind my ears =)
A funny saying I saw on a Viper site which I belive is VERY true...."imagine some kids on a street corner watching cars go by...they see something like a Vette, RX7 and they say " NICE Car!".....then a PorscheTT, NSX or even better exotic looking comes by and they say " oooohhhhh..look at that one and jump up and down..." then a Striped Viper passes them and they say "HOLY %!$#!!!...do you see that *#*$%! that is bad ass!!!"
THe only reason I belive this is true is I took a friends GTS out for a spin and the local kids selling lemonade BEGGED and cheered when I stopped for a glass, they almost dropped the stand trying to get to the sidewalk =)

Scott,

Thank you for the great comparison between the NSX and the Viper. Your review on Corner Carvers is unbelievable. The latter review was not unlike a Road&Track review.

I am surprised we don't hear more about Vipers here. Vipers, 996 Porches, and the NSX are all in the same price range(75k-90k).

I know that many people on this forum do not like the look of the Viper, but I do. I think it looks outrageous(almost cartoonish but in a good way). Scott, I like it how you described how little kids wave at you in the Viper. That is good stuff. The Viper seems like it is as exciting to drive as it is to look at.

It appears you found the Viper to be unuseable as a daily driver. I have seen many others reach this same conclusion. As you say, it has poor ergonomics, and no type of traction control to keep those meaty 335's firmly planted on the ground. This can present a very dangerous situation.
I guess it is fun to attempt to tame this beast...just not on a daily basis hehe.

I like the Viper. It's the only American car that I'd look at or maybe even getting. As with the Mustang, Vette, Camaro, etc... you can flush them right down the toilet.

Your right, after driving the Porsche, NSX and Viper one couldn't help but go to the NSX for pratical preformance &styling. I think the Viper looks good, but it will beat the hell out of you as a daily driver if thats your intention. To get the best out of the car you really have to warm up its tires and have greater care in characteristics in corners. Wouldn't say its the best choice in parts of the country that have harsh winters and pot holes in the spring. I found it quite a challenge with the car, even after some seat time in one. With that said, I'd love to have one next to the NSX in the garage.

I have never driven a viper, but I have been for a ride in one. The torque in incredible, but the interior materials are really cheap. They are way out of place on a car costing that much.

Also, I think it is ridiculous to not have ABS on a car like that. It lost every single comparison it was in for 60-0,70-0 braking. Get a clue Dodge. (yes, I know the 2001 has ABS -- as does the 2003).

I have always like the Viper since day one. When I went for a ride back in 1994, there were kids jumping up and down in the back seat of their moms van pointing at teh car. That was pretty cool. It is nice to know that things havent really changed that much

I wouldn't go quite that far. The cars are not garbage (yet nowhere near to our NSXs). My problem is with people who think they've got something special with the above mentioned cars. Those cars are a dime a dozen.

P.S. I wouldn't mind having a C-5 Corvette as a winter car!
