VIN # missing on certain parts of NSX.

In about a week im heading over to Cali to pick up and NSX. Owner said original main Vin# is on the chasis. but no VIN # on other parts like door, trunk etc....is this normal? the owner is my cousin. Carfax is clean and everything.


For example. i daily my 06 TSX, there vin number all over the car. door,windshield trunk...etc.. But as for this NSX there only VIN on the main chasis of the car. Is this normal?

Can you tell me if you have VIN # on your NSX like on the door and other parts etc...:frown:

Pls do your homework on which year NSX you are getting in to - try "search"

NSX in final years of production was not required (by NHTSA) to be component parts marked (w/VIN "labels"), but Honda chose to voluntarily parts mark it.

I believe 1996 NSX production was NOT parts marked.

they started putting VIN on all body panels after a certain year.

I forget what year but if the NSX is before they required car manufacture
to do this then it would have no VIN except on the tranny. and chassis

but your not the only one that has ever asked that question.

before you ask a question everyone likes the new guys to atleast try and use the search button under the forum button.

lets say you have a question like " my stereo is blinking out on one side of the car Help...! "

think logiclly am i the only person in 20+ years that this has happened to?
probably not. so searching for ( speakers not working ) will probably yeild you tons of posts.

this forum is filled with tons of people that have worked very hard to get this car and are willing to give tons of advice.

this is not your typical forum. trust me.
