Ok guys... here's one for ya... The main vents above the climate controls, right in the middle of the car. Vents, A/C... doesn't matter.... I get almost NO AIR out of the vent closest to the driver, and VERY good airflow coming out of the vent closest to the passenger. Now I'm not missing a vent shut off somewhere am I? I was under the impression you could close the door vents, and the window vents... but that these main vents in the center were always open. We don't have a cabin filter that could be clogged or anything do we?

Check your owners manual

It's just one vent divided into two sections so you should get equal airflow from each side. You do know the little knob in the middle not only allows you to divert airflow up and down, but side-to-side, right? Maybe you should try that. :)

It's not uncommon for the vent motor or the mode motor to stop working because of a problem with the climate control unit. As you toggle through the mode setting with the mode button can you notice the changes to where the air goes?

Perhaps a small animal got sucked into the system and lodged itself behind the driver's side vent. Park your car outside in the sun and you should notice a foul odor in a few hours. :)

Jesus.. thanks Hugh. Lol. Yeah guys, I know that the little flap in the middle of the vent lets you direct the air... I'm saying that full flowing air comes out of the right vent and practically nothing comes out of the left vent. Which I don't understand if its' all one unit. There isn't a seperate blower motor for each side of the center vent is there???

There's only one blower motor for the entire system. There's a set of doors in the heater assembly that divert the air, but there's only one door that directs air to the center vent (both sides).

Maybe there's an obstruction between the door and vent or, as BrianK said, maybe the door's not opening completely. Why don't you take a quick peek? After you remove the clock, there's only two screws holding the vent in. Just follow steps 1-2 here and let us know what you find.

Good luck.

Be VERY careful when lifting the vent assembly off the top of the center trim piece. It has two metal tangs that can scratch the shit out of the top of the trim panel. I strongly recommend you tape a strip of masking tape across the top of the center trim piece with the top of the tape slid under the bottom of the vent assembly first. Taping in some index cards is even better. They're thicker and will protect better than the tape. However, just shining a flashlight into the vents should allow you to easily see any obstruction.

This whole issue is bizarre by the way.
