I've just finished adjusting all my valves. So now I'm ready to put my valve covers back on with new gaskets. I've heard recommendations to put a thin smear of Hondabond "in the 4 corners" but I don't know where that means. I've labeled a pic of the valve cover A through L. Can someone list the letters where the Hondabond should go? And any other recommendations.

Is there a DIY out there for adjusting the valves?

Yes, at danoland.com and the 1991 service manual has good information too. It's not that hard to do.

Per the manual, you need just a tiny dab in the 8 sharp corners A, B, J, L, I, K, H, G. These are the transition areas between the rubber gasket and the intersection of 2 metal components, the head and the cam holders. Rubber gaskets only work well on smooth uninterupted surfaces; these transition points need a little more help.

Just FYI the volume enclosed by CDFE is only needed as a dust seal. All the oil is sealed at the cam seals.

Yeah when I opened mine up I was disappointed to find I didn't have the rubber seals around the timing belt section of the covers. I guess the last guy to be in there cheaped out and left them out. Thanks!

Hey Dave do you take off the metal oil splash shield on the valve covers? It's bolted into the 8 holes around the spark plug holes. The inner 6 are for your igniter covers

Yeah I took off the inner oil splash baffles before I took the covers in for powder coating. I just haven't put them back in yet. I assume they should have Hondabond around the perimeter of the baffles when put back?

I just looked at my 3.0 covers. I didnt see any on the perimeter. Doesn't mean that they do not have the seal

Mine definitely had some sealant all around. Even after taking out the bolts, the baffles didn't want to come out. I just scraped all the old sealant off of them and now am ready to re-install.
