I have a 96 model obd2 nsx. My friend is getting rid of his apexi vafc2 off his s2000. Has anyone tried any of the vafc controllers on the nsx?

i have had these on my civic and s2000 and were able to pull out an additional 5-15whp on the dyno after a tune.

whats your input..

I don't even know what that is. Judging from the lack of replies I think I'm not alone.

And how would a VTEC controller make more power than the factory tune? I am just wondering....

The VAFC is a VTEC/FUEL/AIR controller, allowing for adjustments to fuel mapping as well as changing the VTEC engagement point. That or the AEM FIC are a good solution for NA cars that don't see much, if any, benefit from a full ECU replacement.

just go with prospeed ecu tuned and you're done !!!

Prospeed can't tune an obd2 ecu.

The VAFC is great bang for the buck. It can adjust +/- fuel and +/- vtec engagment and vtec disengagement at different RPMs. It doesn't adjust timing.
If you have an NA with just bolt-ons then the VAFC is a good way to add the extra fuel the car needs. To make full/proper use of the VAFC make sure you dyno tune it.

If you have an obd2 car you can get the RDX injectors and have the VAFC tune it for proper A/F mixture.

The VAFC is almost comparable to the AEM FIC but the FIC is more for boost application since you can ONLY retard timing according to boost. In NA apps you sometimes need to add timing to make more power which neither VAFC nor FIC can do but only a complete EMS can do.

Hope this helps.

I'm preferring this much more.
