Just got back from a week at Captiva Island, Florida. On August 13, 2004, Captiva was devastated by hurricane Charley, suffering severe property damage and the loss of 90% of its lush tropical foliage, including nearly all of its mangrove trees. Yet, despite the hurricane, Captiva is alive and well, and is the closest I have ever been to a real tropical paradise.

Nice pics!

The last sunset shot looks like it could be from the around the 'Mucky Duck' area.

Went there a couple years ago and you could actually see small dolphins jumping out of the water, just off shore.

Beautiful photos!! I LOVE! Captiva Island.....~*~ My Aunt got married there .... Absolutely gorgeous!*~ Looks like you had a Wonderful
Time too!*~ Where did ya stay? Any good fishin' ? ThaNSX* for sharing the pics! :)

Thanks! We stayed at Plantation Beach Club... no fishin', but my little one brought home about 20 lbs of seashells. The sunset was taken right behind our unit, about a 5 min drive (at 19 mph) from the Mucky Duck.

Incredibel! I have been there at South Seas Plantation exactly 15 years ago... I still have a lot of memories coming back to my mind from that period... very nice place!
