This little mod allows you to use the original NSX metal key on a 97+ model.

- remove the panels under the driver side footwell via 2 screws

- remove the knee area panel by removing the 2 screws on the bottom and pull hard on the top. You will need use some force to pull the clips out.

- you'll see this black trim around the key hole area, remove one gold screw on the bottom.

- Pull trim away from the key hole area. This trim is actually the immobilizer antenna.

- Place your original key inside the this trim/antenna, tape it or zip tie it to secure it.

- You'll need to order part number 35105-SLO-A11 which is the clear plastic trim piece on the older nsx's that use to light up.

- Place this new trim piece over the key hole area, you'll need to drill a small hole on the new trim piece to use the original screw you took out. Since this trim piece is clear, it's very simple.

- Screw everything back together and you are all set!

Now i understand this totally defects the purpose of the Immobilizer anti-theft system but I think the Metal key should be the one and only key for my baby!

Are you kidding? I've had my NSX for seven years and as far as I know, the key was never used on the car. I took some metal polish to it and its a blazing gold color. It sits in a Honda glass in my NSX shrine. :D

Since I saw my post from five years ago, I may as well post the picture of my key. Couldn't edit the post (perhaps too old).
