i have a 92 with 70k miles, just wondering what kind of performance gain will I get for upgrading to a 97+ set up (rotor, caliper, pads, etc.)? is it worth the trouble? can anyone who has done it this route share their experience? thanks!

I have done it.

You get a little bit better heat dissipation at the track, there is virtually no difference in feel on the street by switching calipers and rotors. Be aware that IF you do this, you will also need to upgrade your spare tire. 15/16s are no longer an option. OEM 17/17s now fit without a spacer.

Not unless you are a track rat, or you have a reason to R&R your existing ones.

I would start with fluid and pads. Pads make a HUGE difference. My advice? Get a set of pads, racing fluid and speedbleeders. If that does not satisfy, THEN look take it a step further.

If there is something I missed, let me know.

thanks sharing. i'm definetly not a tracky, may i ask, the little improvement for the 05 brake sys, could it be also contribute to the ABS unit for the earlier model is different than the new one?

99 1/2 and up has much better ABS supposedly so that helps. If you don't track then you do not need NA2 brakes. Just put in some good street/track pads and you'll be satisfied.

I have been extremely happy with the Carbotech Bobcats for this purpose. Throw in a couple cans of ATE and speedbleeders and you are all good.

Shane,
I have the NA2 Caliper, Rotors and Pads in my garage. Im having Don install it (maybe tommorow), I'll give you my feedback. So far the NA2 rotors are definitely larger than the NA1's. The advantage to an NA2 is, I can actually buy the new Dali 2 piece rotors (lighter than OEM's)

Here's a comparison between NA1 VS NA2 Rotors, so far I felt a good difference between the two.
