Upgrading stock "shoes"

i would like some input on upgrading the stock wheels/tires.

did you guys order everything online and brought them to a local shop (sacramento area) for installation? or was everything purchased from a local store that carry tires and wheels?

as for the suspensions, i was thinking of coilovers... what would be the smartest way to upgrade? shoes first then suspension? suspensions first? everything at the same time?

any extra thoughts/recomendations/suggestions would be great!
