Charlotte's getting some presents for her 200,000th mile.

BBK
Jap short gears
4.23 R&P
Alpine DVA-9965 to replace the DVA-7996
Refinish the battle scarred HRE 545s.

Front calipers are in, rears next week.
Tranny work next week.

Next on the list is a built NA motor. I'm going to use a '92 motor from an automatic car with low miles for the build.

I have a '93 motor in excellent shape with about 85K miles on it if anyone is interested.

Coming across some of Hugh's old posts i wonder if he will run Brembos
Charlotte the harlot show me your legs,
Charlotte the harlot take me to bed.
Charlotte the harlot let me see blood,
Charlotte the harlot let me see love :)

with all those miles have you done any suspension upgrades?

Yes sir.
HRE 545s
17x8 up front with F1-GSD3 215/40-17
18x10 in the arse with 285/35-18

Dali track/street sways
SoS steering bushings
Iron Maiden stickers in key locations
Tein RA (currently off to Japan for a rebuild after 100K miles)
Tein Flex for the time being.
Car is lowered about 1.25"

Car pulls peak Gs of about 1.2 last time I was at The Dragon. I can only imagine the numbers I'd get with racing slicks. :)

what clicks are you at for front and rear dampening? I've got some oversteer issues I'd like to dial out. We're running similar setups. Except I'm Tein-RE

For daily driving I'm 4 clicks up from full soft. For pounding The Dragon and any other spirited driving on twisties I'm usually at 4 down from full hard. I use the same settings on all 4 coilovers.

Do you have an adjustable swaybars? That could be the cause of the oversteer. I have Dali track/street bars front and rear. The fronts have 3 holes, I'm in the middle one. The rears have 4 holes, I'm in the last one. My car has slight understeer and feels very balanced during high G turns.

Hi Hugh!

Maybe you'll give me right alignment angles you have, since slight understeer is also my aim, and I'm running on Tein Monoflex as well. I will have also ajustable swaybars... Appreciate your advice.

I'm running the current Dali Street/Track swaybars. However there are 3 holes. I'm now at full stiff up front, and middle in the back. 225/30/18 front, 285/35/19 rear @ 33/38 psi. Rake is within spec but hasn't been corner balanced. Alignment spec I can't recall right away, but it's within spec for 93 except for rear camber @ -2.2 degrees because of lowering.

How many clicks does the RA have?

I'll scan my last alignment readout and post it when I find it. It's essentially the stock 1993 settings except of course the rear camber which is about -2.2 because the car is lowered.

4.23 R&P and JDM short gears are in. I only have 2 words: "Oh My!"
BBK is of course by StopTech. They look great behind the HRE 545s, but more importantly the brake modulation is outstanding and they stop as well if not a little better than the factory brakes. They came with Axxis Ultimates which puke out more crap than a Sahara dust storm but they will soon be replaced by CarboTech Bobcats or PosiQuiet ceramic pads.

Considering the OEM gears that came out of the tranny are 15 years old and have over 200K miles on them, they looked almost new. Let that be a lesson to you boys and girls. Maintain your NSX and it will outlive you. :)

A big brake kit that is only as good as factory? What is the point then?

So...given the fact that you have one of the highest miles NSX's, is there a list of things - besides the typical timing belt, water pump - that you'd recommend servicing/replacing....based on your experience?

You kinky SOB

Won't Doc get a bit jealous?

How did you find a Tranny to get its fingernails dirty?

The main advantage to a BBK is heat dissipation and resistance to fading under severe conditions such as racing. There will be marginal improvements in stopping distances on cars that already have outstanding factory brakes such as the NSX.

I bought them because I got them at a great price. In fact the fronts were originally yellow and the rears were black. I had all 4 calipers powder coated a lovely shade of chartreuse to match the dress I bought for NSXPO 2008.

Put those erections away boys, I'm just kidding. They're now red.

The other factor of course is bling. They look great behind the HREs. I'll post some pics just as soon as the custom logos are done.

Just follow the factory's recommended service intervals and keep an eye out for the usual trouble spots that are regularly discussed here. I have never suffered a major component failure (knock on wood) and to the best of my knowledge the A/C has never needed a re-charge. Using it every day is probably the reason for this. The car was a Florida car for the first 70K miles before I owned her.

I only use Amsoil 10W-30 and Auto-Rx and change the stuff (filter too) every 3 to 5 thousand miles. I change the tranny fluid (not the stuff Armando likes to drink from the "tap") every 10 to 15 thousand miles.
