so yeah... i like collecting 1/18th cars... and always updating my collection. and since moving into a new house, i haven't had time to dry-wall my garage and make it look nice, nor is there any room in the house to hang up these display cases... so for now, i mounted them temporarily in the garage without drywall.... still need to also get the 1/18th autoart raybrig nsx...

Very nice diecast collection! A little bit OT, but where did you get those cases? My father and I have a ton of 1/18ths, and are looking for a way to display them, instead of having them sit in boxes or accumulate dust in the rec room.

Sweet collection! I've wanted to start collecting 1/18th for some time now and i think this pushed me towards getting my first. Is there any place online that has these for good prices? Are the autoart models detailed nicely? They look fabulous! Thanks for your help!

Funny because I was planning to start a collection soon too. All the cars that matters to me

I only have a Autoart Porsche Carrera GT 1/18 just like yours, it's incredible when it comes to details.

Superb collection!

Very nice collection. Btw you forgot the 1:1 scale model in your garage.

Batass! You ever go to FRank and Sons in Pomona? Big indoor collectibles swap meet.

Bat™

yeah, its literally down the street from where i live... let me know if you ever decide to go... i'll swing down there with you!

autoart and minichamps are by far the best... they're details are amazing... down to even freefloating seat belt buckles.... its worth it!!!!

I went to a toy store here and everything they had, mostly Ferrari's and high end cars (don't remember brands). The quality was not so good.

Maybe because I'm used to Autoart. Would you say Minichamps are in the same league as Autoart??

Autoart is very definitely high quality. I have the same black CGT as in the pictures, and it's incredible. If you want even higher end though, you can shell out 300USD for things like CMC or BBR, Exoto etc. We got my dad a BBR Ferrari 375 Plus for xmas, I'm absolutely amazed at the detail in that thing.

Ps thanks for the leads on the display cases, looks like I'll have to head down to Ikea and take a look sometime soon.

its pretty close.... you do get what you pay for.... hotwheels, maistos and motormax are generally around 20-30.... autoart about 50-60, and minichamps around same area... the high end autoart and minichamps can go from 90-120....

BBR is also a great brand... i wanted the BBR enzo... even comes with ferrari LUGGAGE?!?!!

Yea, BBR is nuts. I was looking at an Exoto model, however, the other day. It was a vintage sports car of some sort (I don't remember what sort because I'm pretty knowledgeless when it comes to them), but it even had a small wooden box on the side filled with individually modeled mini tools! Not to mention individual straps that need tweezers to open hoods etc etc...incredible detail.

i believe the BBR enzo was like 250-300 range if i wasn't mistaken... but it truly is a work of art~!!!

That's nuts! Yeah, suffice to say that my dad didn't get much else for xmas after we got him the model. I haven't seen the BBR enzo, though if it's anything like the others they have at the hobby shop I go to, then it must be incredible. I wish they had a BBR NSX or similar high caliber model; I'd actually shell out the money for one (given that I can't afford a real one at the moment). I did manage to find a 18th of the 02+ NSX by motormax, but I have no idea as to the quality of motormax models.

yeah motormax is no good.... honestly the 1/18th autoart NSXs are great... and there a few others that make stock NSXs too... don't remember names off top of my head

I heard kyosho made some, but I haven't come across any. IIRC, Autoart only makes NSX race car models (which are gorgeous). Maybe I should bite the bullet and pick up an autoart and source out stock model too :D

You can find the Kyosho NSXs on eBay quite frequently. They're not bad but not the greatest.

JDMnsxR, great display cases (and great collection). I've been looking for something to house my 1/43 collection but it seems Ikea doesn't sell them online. So it looks like I'll have to drop down to Dallas or the one in LA when I'm in Cali.

Thanks for the pics!
