You probably need to replace the window regulator. I had a similar problem and I recently replaced the window regulator with a new one. If you do a search, you can also find someone to rebuild them for you.
I ignored this thread for a few days because I didn't think it was a tech question based on the title. I thought it was some new "up" switch gadget.
Also you're leaving out a lot of information. Does the motor try to roll the window up? Can you hear any noise from the door when you try to roll it up? It should pull current so you might see your domelight or interior light go dim if you have the engine turned off and the ignition in the ON position.
The passenger switch rolls the passenger window up and down.
The drivers switch rolls the window down but not up. Would this be a regulator type issue under the hood? Or would this be a failing at the door switch?
Have you had the drivers side door panel off lately? It might be the connector to the pass window main switch isn't properly seated in the switch. Or of course the swt can be going bad.
It could be anywhere between the doors. You'll just have to start eliminating one thing at a time.
I have not had it off lately. Seems to be a big pain in the butt to do. I was hoping there was some other troubleshooting such as the relay under the hood that I should try first.
Make sure the wire from the d/s window switch is properly connected. If so then it is most probably the d/s switch itself. You can test its proper function with a volt meter checking to see that the switch the ability to send the voltage to the window drive motor in the up mode. I had the same problem, bad switch.
