uninsured until legal in my name

When importing a car from the states my insurance company said they could not insure it until it was in my name.Seeing as it's going to be a couple of weeks before it's shipped, daytime running lights installed ,inspected then registered to my name It's going to be uninsured for two weeks.What do all you guys that import cars do.

My insurance c/o asked for the VIN and copy of the title in my name. But then again I gave them a copy of the title that wasn't transferred into my name yet. Still had the original US owner on it. I told them I was bringing it from the US via trip permit they didn't have a prob printed me a pink slip.

That's how I did it..Every Insurance company have differant rules.

Is there a way to put the car on my name without getting the inspections.I know I need to go true the RIV process before I can register it.Just wondering if they would put it on my name without giving me the plates so i could get insurance.

Congrats... sounds like you had a bit of a roller coster ride... but its all over now time to park the car in storage till spring? Also join NSX Club of Canada if you haven't already done that? :smile:
