Hi, I bought my car used with that filter a year and 4 months ago, I believed I checked it when I just got the car, it was pretty clean.  I finally get the chance to check mine couple weeks ago, it's filthy with some mosquitos and a dragon fly on the foam    I did clean up a little by wiping those dead bodies off and paper towel to take some dirt off, but without the proper oil and filter cleaner, I didn't clean it very well.

Question is, are these supposed to last as K&N Filters?  or I supposed to change it according to the factory interval?  I've seen the filter clean and re-oil kit at Comp tech web site, but really have no clue if I need a new one or just need to clean my old one.
