Hey everybody,

I got my cantrell AIS and unifilter just recently (and my car back from the shop after getting some minor body work after railing a deer), and i had a few (potentially stupid) questions:

1) What do I need to do to install the air filter? - I can see it came in a bag with a bunch of oil in it already; I've heard bad stories about people having too much oil on the filter and gunking up their tb. Do I have to do anything before I slap it in the airbox?

2) Does anybody have a good resource for the proper cleaning procedure?

Sorry if I posted a redundant or "stupid" question - I couldn't find any specific details of cleaning on prime. There are some sources on the net, of course, but I thought I'd ask you guys also, since I'm sure most of you are as paranoid about your car and sucking in any amount of oil... as I am

Thanks.

Oh, also, it said on the site that it was a dual stage filter, and it looked like it had two components (one red in color, one yellow). Is the filter separable or something?

Again, thanks.

Filter in bag should be preoiled. Just toss it in and go.

No not it will not separate. I believe it's just two different density foams stuck together. One side filters out the big stuff, then the denser foam filters out the smaller stuff.

The Unifilter manufacturer website has a cleaning procedure. Google for unifilter and you should be able to find it.
