UNEVEN ODOMETER NUMBERS

I notice that some "for sale" NSX's--when they show a picture of the odometers the numbers are not perfectly lined up--I KNOW that when it rolls to a new "thousand" they
might not line up perfectly--for a few miles-

I was always told that this was a strong sign that the odometer was rolled back

Is this correct or not ? please look at yours before you comment----thanks

That's what I was told too, Paul. Mine are straight though. PHEW!

An odometer is supposed to tell you how many miles a car has been driven. It can be altered easily. The car you think is new may be used, and the used "creampuff" may be a high-mileage clunker. There is no foolproof way to detect a rollback. Some of the warning signals are apparent tampering or looseness in dash board; digits out of alignment, perforations in odometer; sticking digits, condition of vehicle inconsistent with alleged mileage; inconsistent wear in the interior; and old service or inspection stickers.

I do not know how to post the picture-but a good example is item 2406533610 on ebay.
Click on the picture of the odometer.

Does this look normal compared to your car?
I am only using this car as an example of my
question-I am not attempting in any way to make a negative statement on this particular car

That odometer looks perfect to me. The 9 is on it's way to zero so it has moved slightly.
