Ugly panel/Need help

This car has a exterior cosmetic problem. The B pillar that was once a shiney black is now faded and ugly looking. This happened to the passenger side. The drivers side is fine. It looks as if the clear coat has deteriorated then faded the paint. The solution is for me to remove this panel so the paint shop can repaint and finish it. Does anyone know how this panel comes off?

You can see how just about everything is taken apart by downloading the service manual, but you will have to remove most of the interior to get to the two nuts that are screwed onto threaded posts sticking out of the back of the side panels, these panels are cast from AL. The panel is held into place by the two nuts and a series of clips. Oh, and be carefull not to drop the nuts, as you are removing or reinstalling them, they will fall into the frame of the car and not be recoverable.

There is a Pic of the area in this post.

By-the-way where do I go to download the service manual? Also where can I get a copy of an owner's manual? I just bought this red '91 to do a few track days and then turn it for a profit. How naive I was. This is an incredible driver's car!

With a coupe I ended up removing the threaded studs with a small vice grips (to unthread them)....the studs are long enough that you bend the top alignment clips on the pillar cover trying to remove them in place.

Make sure you pack the body cavity with rags BEFORE you start....I just left the rags in there after the job, extra insulation I suppose.

There is a small rubber strip along the bottom of the cover, make sure the body shop doesn't paint them as well...major pain to get the paint off afterwards

Mine has started to do this too on the driver side B-pillar. I'm thinking about gettng the Carbon B-pillars. Thanks for the tip about the rags. I used silicon in the socket, it was a little messy.
