Time for UFC 76 'Knockout'....this is at the Honda center BTW
Here's the card:
Shogun vs Forrest Griffin
Machida vs Nakamura (Nak's UFC debut)
Diego vs Jon Fitch
Liddell vs Jardine
Tyson Griffin vs Thiago Tavares
Matt Wiman vs Michihiro Omigawa
Scott Junk vs Christian Wellisch
Jeremy Stephens vs Diego Saraiva
Rich Clementi vs Anthony Johnson

My predictions:
Shogun (standup war)
Machida (should be on the feet and on the ground)
Fitch (wrestling war)
Liddell (kickboxing war)
Griffin (unless Tavares subs him of course)
Wiman (hoping to see nice striking from Matt)
I don't care much about the last 3, but i'll say Wellisch, Saraiva, and Clementi. Vitor also fights tomorrow @ Cage Rage 23.

Thoughts?

Shogun vs Forrest Griffin Shogun... though I like Griffin lots
Machida vs Nakamura (Nak's UFC debut)Nakamura
Diego vs Jon FitchDiego... hate him but he's pissed
Liddell vs JardineNeed I say? Chuck won't get caught like Forrest
Tyson Griffin vs Thiago Tavares
Matt Wiman vs Michihiro OmigawaOmigawa, just cuz Wiman isn't all that
Scott Junk vs Christian Wellisch
Jeremy Stephens vs Diego Saraiva
Rich Clementi vs Anthony Johnson

Clementi will probably lose because he was an underacheiver on the show

I'll go out on a limb and pick Jardine over Chuck. It's hard to imagine this going to a decision but I see Chuck gassing late and neither man being able to knock the other one out.

Rua over Griffin. Shogun will have a bit of a problem with the UFC rules with no stomps, kicks while down, knees... But he will find a way to bust up Forrest. Big knees will land in the clinch...

Diego over Fitch, cardio over striking. I think split decision here.

Kazuhiro Nakamura over Ryoto Machida via submission after some good striking.

Tyson should beat Thiago. But I'm gonna pick Thiago by submission because Tyson will make a mistake.

Shogun vs Forrest Griffin -Unanimous Decision
Machida vs Nakamura - Sub rd 2
Diego vs Jon Fitch - Split decision
Liddell vs Jardine -KO round 1
Tyson Griffin vs Thiago Tavares - Split Dec
Matt Wiman vs Michihiro Omigawa - KO rd 1
Scott Junk vs Christian Wellisch - sub rd 2
Jeremy Stephens vs Diego Saraiva - Snooze fest, Split Dec
Rich Clementi vs Anthony Johnson - KO rd 1

Wow, you guys all pick Nak and Diego to win? I think that's a mistake, but I guess we'll see if I put my foot in my mouth. Striking over groundwork on this one IMO.

Jon

Mental note: If going to Vegas, pick winner... bet on other guy. Wow did I miss something or what? At least Chuck has something to work for besides beating rampage...

forret griffin for Prez!

I was able to predict at least 1 fight...Jardine over Liddell. Liddell looked good in the 1st round and as if he was going to put Jardine out. Jardine kept his composure and settled down in the 2nd round and controlled the fight. I was suprised that one judge scored Liddell the winner 29-28...my mind starting thinking of a repeat ripoff just like when Bispbing "beat" Matt Hamill; but fortunately the other 2 judges saw it the correct way!

Well, I picked 6 out of 9 correctly. Not a huge upset IMO for Jardine to have beat Chuck, but man he dished out some serious punishment to Chuck's legs and ribs. Hurt him early on too. It's possible Liddell's age and partying are catching up w/ him, because Jardine did not look spectacular, though he did have a good gameplan. What I can't believe is that Shogun gassed halfway through the fight w/ Forrest. He handed Griffin that RNC, not to take anything away from Forrest, he could make a believer of anyone (including me, I felt he beat Tito). Knew Fitch would beat Diego, didn't know Diego would be such a gentleman after the fight. Machida is probably in line for a title shot after beating Nak.

I have props for the Pride guys but it seems like most of them that come to the UFC seem to have cardio issues and run out of gas. If it wasn't for that, Shogun might have beat Griffin, but again I only said might. Good for Forest to get Shogun to tap. Also I think Lidell is done, 2 losses in a row?, might be tough to come back. Props to Jardine for taking his punches and trading with Lidell.

You can't come into a fight against Forrest and not train hard on cardio. But I think the shootbox chaos style just wore him out. Forrest also trained with Randy so he definitely had the better gameplan.

The judge that gave Chuck the fight is blind. Jardine exploited Chuck in this fight. Chuck has gotten by being very one dimensional so Keith only had to train for the punches and the occasional kick. He never chased in wildly. Chuck's left side was destroyed... I gotta find a close up pic. I don't think Chuck's washed up, he just needs to be more multi-dimensional and come in with better game plans than fist hitting chin. There's a lot of good fighters right now with 2 straight losses against them.

I wonder if Fedor will fight Randy some day. I honestly don't know how I would feel about that fight... I like both fighters a lot. Does Wanderlei have a fight yet? I know he signed with the UFC.

What's up with the sherdog forums? I went there the other day and everyone is calling everyone else names like its elementary school. No one seemed to know what they are talking about either.

It was boring to watch to be honest with you. Vandy is said to be interested in fighting Forrest and that could happen. It's still unknown whether Fedor will sign as he will bring legitimacy into any fighting organization. Vandy vs Forrest will be interesting although I still want to watch Vandy fight Chuck. Maybe that is the better matchup, loser needs to retire. :) Rampage still wants revenge against Vandy and Shogun. Jardine is legit. There's a lot of interesting matchups at that weight class.

Vandy looked bummed after Chuck lost. Partly because I think part of his signing contract was to fight lidell down the road (i might be wrong), but because of lidell's loss, the interest (money) might no longer be as big. Unless they can hype up a fight between him and jardine or maybe forest...

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Randy-Fedor will happen before Randy's contract is up (he'll be 45 BTW). Wand is set for the Dec card, opponent is TBA. I think they'll still have him fight Chuck for New Years, both are coming off 2 losses, might make for a brutal match. Sherdog is like that every day man, it is the most immature site out there, with Supraforums probably second.
These Pride guys are getting schooled in the octagon, I hate to even mention it but is this what happens when Chute Boxe is off the juice? Yeah, the PPV was not the most exciting (the event was called 'Knockout' yet there were no KO's), but the most boring? Try watching Shamrock-Severn  .

You guys are forgetting about the up & coming Houston Alexander who is also in the same 205 weight class. With 2 hard-hitting quick knockout fights, he'll be in line very soon for a title shot!

i though they where good fights.....except one.....

i called forest and keith....the other griffin and the fitch fight...so i did pretty good.....

rua looked likea NOOB....forest had his number for sure...

chuck looked like like crao also....he should tried his ground game out....i hate keith but man those leg kicks to the midsection were brutal

deigo looked like crap...funny now that he has to fight "good" people he looks like crap....
