Type R hood owners beware

My brake reservoir has slowly turning yellow and starting to crack. Possibly this due to exposure to the sun after so many years. If you have not gotten any radiator duct I suggest you could cover them with covering sock. I was looking for Mugen but I found Spoon one instead.

could that damage be also caused by the area that you live?
I would have to look at mine but I don't recall it looking like that. I ran with my hood for ~2yrs.

I have my hood since 2004. That's about 4 years. Check if your reservoir is yellowing. It's a cheap cover. I got mine from local supplier.

No need to spend big bucks. Just buy some wrist bands at any sporting goods store. A lot of motorcycle guys put them on their brake reservoir as well.

:biggrin: Its for the RHD. I though initially it didn't fit because of the ABS protector bar but an easy fix... remove bar:tongue:

Around £300 so at todays rates ... $600

If you're gonna fit the hood you might as well make it fuctional IMO

Whats even more disturbing is how dirty your car is under the hood. That thing needs a detail job badly.

I agree but back then they don't have 02 hood replica so I had to get the 02R hood instead.:redface:

Yeah but less than 10% of those probably REALLY know why other than "it looks cool" or "the light glowing into it distracts me".

I made a scoop from a large piece of cardboard and tape until I can save enough to buy a proper scoop. It works quite well I must say. Just poke a hole in the bottom in case water gets in from washing so it can drain. Spray it with black paint and none the wiser.

Just curious, what is the piece under the bracket that holds the radiator

I put a black duct tape under my bracket because taking the bracket off to remove the radiator shield was starting to scratch the paint. Perhaps Honda figured to put a trim there?

those are DownForce 02+ headlight brackets for the conversion.
