type r brake calipers

What do you all think about this? is this better than our oem and will it work on a 91 nsx? Has anyone had these on their car. If it is better than oem it seems like a cheap way to upgrade brakes.

Paul,

I am thinking these are NOT NSX-R calipers. They may actually be close or the same to the calipers on a stock 1991 NSX. If they claim to fit a 90-96 NSX they cannot be even as large as the 1997 calipers.

Investigate carefully before buying.

I think they are Integra type-R calipers. I'd say putting those on your NSX would be a bit of a "downgrade" rather than an upgrade. They will probably fit the stock NSX caliper brackets and bolt-up to your NSX, as I understand that Integra guys like to put NSX calipers on their Integras. I guess the grass is always greener.....

they look like integra-r to me also.does ken own one? if so I am sure he would know for positive

These are indeed for an Integra Type R. The years are the tip-off; it says that it's for a '97-00 Type R, and there was no NSX-R in those years.

I'm not sure if they are stock calipers or some kind of aftermarket replacement. Mine don't look that shiny but I get them pretty hot.

I would assume they're talking about front calipers, not rear calipers.

The stock Integra Type R calipers would be a step down from the stock NSX calipers. Even though both brake pads are the same size and shape (and are interchangeable), the front calipers for the NSX have two pistons, and those of the ITR have only one.

I have a GS-R also, both cars are red. I thought about getting a R but couldn't live without my cruise and sunroof.
When I'm serious about driving of course I take out the NSX. Otherwise daily chores are for the Integra.

I have a red GS-R also.

NSX = track and club events
ITR = daily driver and track
GS-R = SO's daily driver and Cosmo's transporter
