Where are some LONG tunnels in San Diego?

The only one I can think of is the I-15 tunnel near the 94 freeway.

I want to drive my car through them and hear and record my exhaust music.

(I'm also going to play at the Mission and Fashion Valley parking lots....)

Where else?

Geez dude. You're out of control!!! :D

Anyways, my favorite when I was younger with a loud exhaust was the tunnel going westbound into downtown under a portion of San Diego City College.

Shorter ones are some of the tunnels under I-5 right near the airport.

Not too many long tunnels in San Diego though.

i can think of 2 in escondido.
both are on center city parkway.
one is on the southbound offramp from the 15 coming from temecula.
the other is right before you get back on the freeway from center city.

I used to drive that same B street tunnel all the time. The echoing effect is fantastic because the street is only 3 lanes wide. It is much louder at night because the air is more dense due to lower temps. Also, it is safer at night because there is less traffic and no pedestrians.

I drove up to Escondido from downtown just to drive through that one. After doing it, I had to circle around to do it again.

The only tunnel I know of south of LA is in Redondo Beach from the 105 to the 405 merger is a tunnel on each side for 10-15 seconds at 70-80mph. That doesn't sound nearly long enough however :(

Good luck. :) I'm surprised there's no tunnel list already made.. heck may be Google will bring up something.

Watch for CHP at the end of the tunnel here! At the exit there is a service/utility area perfect for parking.
There is always the tunnel under the LAX runway. Its on Sepulveda, between Imperial and Century. You can hit this in two directions. Not very long tho.

Thanks guys! Keep them coming!

I'll have to try the one from center city... how long is it?

Keri and I tried to capture the sound of my exhaust at the 15/94 tunnel I mentioned. Unfortunately, the noise from other cars kinda jacked it up. Keri was the one driving and I she was going too slow. (I stopped at the end of the tunnel and started recording.) I was going to get my turn and have Keri videotape but I decided to try out Fashion Valley's parking garage. It sucked... there was no SAFE place to hit redline. I was only able to hit 6000 rpm before I ran out of space. DAMN.

We'll have to try these late at night... less people, less cars, more room, more safe.

I'm going to post the one I have of me in the 15/94 tunnel.

Cool! I checked out the tunnel at the Center City onramp. Nice! It's perfect for a sound clip!

Unfortunately, I wasn't in my NSX.

I'll try to get a clip this weekend!

I wish that tunnel had a shorter ceiling. So, when are you going to be demoing your new exhaust to locals?

Hey Walter, I brought my car to the desert run that was supposed to happen, but the only NSX's that showed up were Aaron and David. I had to leave shortly after though...

Next time there is a meet, I'll try to be there again!
