Tulsa NSX/S2K Event - Sept 1st

Thought I'd list the event discussed in part here in it's own thread.

10am - Karting at JRP
- $40 per person for practice and team race (two per team).
- 1 hour combined practice and race.
- Helmets available but, if possible, bring your own.

- Practice: 20 minutes
- Race: 40 minutes
- 1st driver: 19 minutes
- Pit/Driver Change: 2 minutes
- 2nd driver: 19 minutes

Winners get...likely nothing but bragging rights or maybe we'll throw in a plaque.

12 noon - Cookout
- at my place, directions will be provided.
- GT4 Time Attack.

2pm - Synergy Autoworks shop tour
- display of ex-GC NSX racer, Aerial Atoms, and ex-WC Civic racer.
- demonstration of available services (dyno, corner-balance, etc).

Couple things:

- we'll be having the cookout at my place. I'll provide directions to everyone attending the karting event.
- there is no planned detail time.
- we need to divy up responsibilities for bringing food. I'll start out with bringing the burgers and buns. Please post here to indicate what you can bring (and everyone should bring something). ie, sodas, chips, hotdogs, fruit, etc.

JRP quoted $40 per person and we'll be having teams (2 per team), 10 teams max. The way it'll work after practice: one person will drive until the half way point, pit, and then let the other team member drive until finishing. Teams will be drawn by lottery at the kart facility.

This should be a blast!

I'll bring a batch of Fruity Slushy Punch Stuff (a.k.a. "FSPS")! ... and plasticware, paper plates, napkins and plastic cups.

I can bring some marinated chicken kabobs. Just to mix it up a bit. Won't feed everyone but certainly can share with a few that are interested.

Shreveport is good as always. What part of Bossier did you grow up in?

Hi Michael. What part of Bossier? There are parts?? Actually, it was quite some time ago. I recall we lived between Airline and Benton Rd. Near Plantation Park Elemetary School. We lived on Ormond Street. My father worked for Boeing hence why we transfered from Wichita to Bossier. I have nothing but fond memories of my childhood in the south. I returned to Wichita at middle school age.

It is rare to be in an NSX and see a fellow NSXer driving one as well. Around here, it's highly rare to even see one.

Had a lot of fun! It was nice meeting everyone. Thank God we didn't do the 19 minute sessions. We would have had to have the cookout at Southcrest hospital w/ IV drips. :wink:
