has anyone done installation on tubi style exhaust for a '95???i've been having problem with the installation...any tips please.....
the OEM joint pipe surface is not flat b/c of the circle inside part of the gasket ring is about 1/8" above the surface. The problem i'm having is that the pipe from the tubi exhaust is too small to fit in the cirle part that above the ring gasket. what should i do????the lower part of the muffler pipe is fitting fine but just the upper is causing the problem.

thanks for the response, i now know what the problem was. as someone was mentioning that the right side wrongly fabricated. it just need to cut down about 1/4" to make it fits.

Vincent...

Welcome aboard!

I've been on vacation this week and spent the first day removing the Tubi on my car and cutting the pipe inside the flange to fit the cats properly. It's not terribly difficult to correct, just time consuming..

One tip Larry B gave me that really paid off..WEAR EYE PROTECTION...hearing protection might not be a bad idea, either..

Later,
Charles

Hey Charles, how are you?
I know from previous conversation that you were not 100% happy with the tubi -
I'm curious - does correcting the fit eliminate the funky kind off-throttle sound the Tubi is notorious for? I noticed it for first time at the local June meet (not on yours!) & thought "eeeeooooowwww!!!!!!! - that's kinda funky!" Otherwise, its great note but on decel' something weird happens - its been reported but hadn't noticed it myeslf till then. This leak could explain it however ......
Can you comment on difference?
p.s. did you make the great plunge yet?

Hey Ken...

Well, as far as I can tell, the "Tubi Gurgle" is still the same....no difference in pitch, tone or character. Since I've was only able to listen to it at 3am the morning I worked on it (went on vacation), this is probably as good as an excuse as any to go for a ride and listen to the gurgle for sure. I'll probably give it a month before making any final decisions on this thing...

What is gone is the "phft, phft" noise that came with each exhaust pulse.
My fiancee says it sounded like the gas station air compressors when you squeeze the trigger to see if it's working..

As far as the great leap into the abyss...I've got until November..she's really supportive of my NSX habit and other quirks, so things are looking good!
