WOW!!! what a difference. i now know what the car was missing. the sound is completely different--esp. at lower rpms.

The tubi should come with all nsxs straight from the factory. not overly loud but definately much better sound than stock imo. most suprising(pleasantly), the look is much cleaner/better also.

here's an observation regarding performance--the nsx feels faster now!!! i know its only a change in sound, not performance, but the car really seems faster now with the improvement in sound.

any other tubi owners have comments/observations??

'im in love, this time i think im really in love'

Some of us here in Sacramento had our first opportunity to see and hear a TUBI last Tuesday.

My comments all in the interest of sharing info.

The pros: the tips and finish are great. Nicely tucked under the valence.

The cons: and this may be unique to this exhaust, the tips were not of equal drop from the valence; after 2 attempts by the owner to fix it at a muffler shop they were still off. The rigt side was a tad lower than the left. More surprising the outer most left tip of the left pair was lower to than the one next to!

As for sound, it was still very new so hard to tell at WOT. However, there was a baffle rattling sound when the driver lifted off the gas pedal and revs dropped .......... can't figure what it might be but it was from inside the exhaust.

Overall .......... too early to make a judgement call based on these observations, perhaps this is unique to this exhaust. The owner was looking forward for the exhaust as well as we Sacramentans so we could hear it and drool ...... I think he was frustrated with the fitment issues as well as the rattle noise ......... Hope it can be addressed satisfactorily.

As for the rattling sound,
I heard that rattling sound from Charles's NSX tubi with 2,500 miles on it, too. His exhaust position was also off.

Huckster and I purchased at the same time.

No observed fitment or finish problems. The tips are equal. Mine was alittle of under the valance, however that was corrected in 1/2 this afternoon.

Sound: Baratone as huckster called it. I followed him home after his install. Behind him @ hwy speed from about 10-12 car lengths you can hear a low toned buzz. Up close, its sound real good, not like a rice rocket bike, just deep pitched. Inside cabin is noticeable, but not opressive enough that you can't speak to a passenger.

You guys did mention a rattle like sound when rpm is decreasing. Huckster has it in his, but its not noticeable in mine. Personally i think its sound good b/c its a deep sound as well. I believe its back pressure which would be a characteristic of a given engine. As you know they don't all preform at the same level, in addition the exhausts are not all the same. The may hold fairly equal sounds, but they will differ. I only say this b/c when I use to race we did some tests for a exhaust manufacture. They sent 3 of the same system which were bolted to the same engine and all 3 differed in dyno results. Go figure !!

I would say that aluim. particles from the manufacture are heavy along the entire back of the car which in time will be blown out.. So becareful they do scratch paint.
