I just bought a nice pair of No Fear Driving Gloves...I put them on and went out to see how they grip on my stock steering wheel...and man they are slippery as hell what's up with that. Is there something you AutoXers and Track fanatics use to get some kind of grip on the wheel? I'm not sure if I even want to use them I get a better grip with just my bare hands.

Possibly try to "rough" them up a bit with sandpaper. I recently bought a pair of Sparco Fast Techs and the suede palms seems to hold the wheel fairly well. I was told to "rough" them up a bit if they weren't tacky enough. The problem may also be with how slick your steering wheel is.

for extreme track use, i prefer these.

:p :p

Never heard of the brand, but the name makes me think they are cheap pretenders for racer wannabes. In other words "fashion wear". But that's just a biased guess. :)

I just bought a '94 and my steering wheel is slippery and much smoother on the top half. Is there any way to make the leather on the steering wheel less smooth/slippery without damaging the leather with sandpaper???

You never heard of the brand " NO Fear" have you been living under a rock or what:eek: Just kidding SJS I bought them from ebays CART merchandise section they were M Jourdain Jr gloves so I dont think he's a Racer wannabe he does it for a living. Believe me the gloves are the real thing I think I need to clean my steering wheel with some Leather clean it seems real glossy maybe that will get me some grip for my School next week.

Just scrap the wheel and get a Momo or Sparco. :p

Hopefully cleaning the wheel with some rubbing alcohol or maybe try spraying a sealant of some sort on the gloves might give it some tack. I wonder what medium they use for "tack" cloths that you can buy @ paint stores? That would work great on the gloves.

How bout some Neuman Receiving gloves used in football?? Just thinking, but I used to play cornerback and my gloves were very tacky and gripped that leather pig skin very well!! I'd imagine they're good for driving too!

oh and when i say tacky, there's no residue, so don't worry about that.

They're anywhere from $12-$20

I think I solved the problem I used Zaino Leather clean on the Wheel a few times scrubbed the heck out of it...Then I used a little sandpaper on the palms of the Gloves and they seen to grip much better now...Hey I noticed this is my 500th post WOO!!!WOO!!!:D :D
