Door handles and shocks

I am updating this post because I do not want to create a new on as I have other issues with my car.
My 1992 door handles can open the door fine, but the top part is deteriorating where the rubber cover wraps around the window.

I went to the Acura dealer and they said the handle was replaced with a new part as evidenced by the new part number.
The old right handle is 72282-SL0-003
The new right handle is 72282-SL0-013ZB

I think that the new number indicates the handles for the 1993+ models and according to the dealer it should be compatible with the pre 1993 NSX doors.

One problem with replacing the door handle is that I do not want to replace it with another door handle that will deteriorate the same way as the ones I have now. Another problem is that each door handle from the dealer cost $940 each.

I think one my options are to find a used one for less. I would like to know if this deterioration occurs frequently to other cars and what I can do the prevent it. Does the 1993+ door handle address this issue?
My other option is to buy an aftermarket door handle made by third party. However, I do not know anything about third party exterior door handles for the NSX. I am also thinking of installing a vertical door (Diablo-style) hinge to make it easier for me to enter and exit the car without doing some yoga (I am pretty tall for the car -- 5'11"). Maybe I can install different type of door handle then. But I am not familiar with what options are out there..

The other issue with my car is that the shocks are 18 years old and my ride is getting a little bumpy so I will need to replace them soon. I have a problem with my lip getting scratched so many times since my car is so low. I bought a traditional bra to cover the lip and now it is tearing up. I wonder if there are shocks that can raise the car a little so I can go through the ramps with out damage. I know that it is strange for someone wanting to elevate their car instead of lowering it, but would rather preserve the car instead of risk damaging it more. I am not going to race the car either. I wonder if there are shocks that can stay higher when the car is slow and drop when the car goes faster.
My earlier problem below is still not completely resolved regarding the wheel wrench. I will keep it there for reference.

Earlier problem:
When I bought my 1992 NSX I did not inspect the trunk until now so I have some questions for anyone who is willing to help.
First my inside trunk light did not work. I checked the light and found no light bulb. I borrowed the light bulb from my inside door light (which works) and placed it in the trunk light and it did not turn on. The manual states that not all the interior lights are the same. Is the interior trunk light supposed to be the same as the interior door light? if not, what type of light bulb goes in the trunk? Here is a diagram on the manual:

I am also wondering what this part is for as it is loose in my tire replacement kit. If it is not in other people's trunks then it may be a useless part.

I also also missing my wheel wrench used to loosen the nuts on my wheel when I need to replace a tire. How or where can I find a replacement wheel wrench that could fit inside the kit without paying an Acura dealer price? Here is a pic in the manual and my actual replacement kit with the wrench missing:

Thanks to everyone in advance.

Trunk light is the same as the door light which is a "DE3021", 3 watt, Festoon bulb.

If you door lights were replaced with LED versions, then make sure you try switching the bulb direction (turning it 180 degrees), because the polarity matters with LED lights. Otherwise you might have to check a fuse, the wiring to the light, or the switch on the trunk latch that turns it on.

The white piece looks like a wire tie. It connects/snaps to the body to hold bundles of wire together. I'm not sure where this one is from, or if it's even for the NSX. . someone else will have to chime in.

Lastly, I too have been looking for the wrench! My kit is also missing that very part! (as well as the tire pressure gauge). I hope I can find one too. I've been searching eBay for one (Honda based), but it's really difficult to tell if it'll fit in the cutout exactly.

A lug wrench from an old Civic will fit. Got a jack and wrench off ebay from an early 90's civic if I recall correctly for dirt cheap. I eventually got an entire trunk kit from a Prime member but when I first got my NSX it was missing some stuff from the kit. The Civic jack won't fit in the styro-foam but the wrench and jack tool will.

I don't know if I remember this correctly, but there is a switch inside the glove compartment. I think that's the trunk light switch...pop some bulb in there and test it out..

I tried ordering the wheel wrench (# 89211-SL0-003) on https://www.acuraoemparts.com/ and it was on backorder.
I also went to a local Acura dealership and it was also on backorder with no estimated delivery date. The Acura dealership did not have a wheel wrench that could fit in the slot because it was shorter.

As for my trunk light I found out it was disconnected (doh!). I had my mechanic reconnect it and install a LED fastoon light. Now it is super bright in the trunk.

I have another issue now where I my door handles are deteriorating where they touch the sliding window. I edited the first post with the details. I want to replace the door handle with something that would last longer. I also need new shocks as my barely legal ones are giving me a bumpy ride.

Wheel wrench bought

After visiting 2 Acura Dealerships and 2 Honda Dealerships, consulted a few mechanics, they could not provide a wheel wrench that fit. Finally, I decided to buy an OEM Acura NSX wheel wrench from Del Rey Acura www.AcuraOEMParts.com. The cost was $18.86 +10.95 shipping and handling. I soon received an email saying it was backorder. I sent them an email to gove me a refund it they did not ship by Feb 2011. Then on 1/31/2011 it shipped and I received it.

I was actually thinking of removing the spare tire and replacement kit to reduce weight, but having the means to replace a flat tire is like having a condom: it is better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it.
