Any thoughts on what it could be ????

Was thinking of having the Acura dealer fix it.

I have seen trunk buttons work even after being submerged in water so I dont think its the button. you can try looking at the fuse to see if its blown.

also you can get a 12 volt source, another car battery and unplug the socket going to the release mech in the trunk and seeing if it will click.

it might not click intill the latch it pressed down, so use a screwdriver to press the latch as if the trunk was being closed. then touch the wires to the connections and if it release it then the unit is good. then your back to the fuse being the last option to check.

like i said the buttons rarely go bad.

let me know if you need pics of the connectors you need to touch can send you pics or what-ever.

Let me start with the fuse, it is the simplest and may be it.
Will get back to you tomorrow on it.

Check if the it's turned off via the rocker switch next to the glove box door.

WOW I totally forgot about that even though I owed a 95' (assuming they had it) lol

It is "fixed" and works fine.

Thanks to both of you !!!!!!!!!!!!

LOCK THIS THREAD IT IS FINISHED THANK YOU PRIME !!!!!!!!!

Damn I was too late. I had that same problem years ago and it was the stupid button in the glove box too lol

I wonder if you had taken it to the dealer and they did the same thing if they would've charged you a 'check out' fee?

Hell yeah they would have. Nothing is free !!!

I guess most of us dont read the manual huh? Im pretty sure its in there, along with other stuff.

Yeah well not every pre-owned car comes with a manual now do they ??

Nice attempt at an insult.

It was not my intension to insult you, it came out like that. For that I apologize. Im just saying, even myself, we forget or just dont remember the manual in the glove compartment. I know not all preowned car come with one.

Anyway, my bad. Sorry.
Carry on.

At least you didn't start tearing out fuses and looking for electrical problems. Sometimes you just have to use the KISS philosophy.
