I borrowed a member's phone to show the part that I need help fixing. Please see the blue circled area for the emergency light switch.

I think through age, the spring is loose. When I drive my car, I hear constant metal vibrating (cling, cling, cling) noises from the switch. If I slightly place my finger on it, I can stop the noise, but once the finger is off the switch, the noise comes back.

I have tried to take the switch apart, but I was unsuccessful. I don't know exactly how to get it out. I don't know if I need to change the whole switch assembly or I can take it apart to try fixing the problem.

Anyone experiencing the same problem? Any fixes?

I have messed with that switch for a different reason.

All of the steering column plastic has to be removed. Use rags to cover the dash, cluster and surrounding parts...it is very easy to make a mistake and scratch something.

Start from underneath and work around to the top. It is a bunch of parts! Allocate 3+ hours for the job so you don't get rushed.

I think you can take apart the switch once you have it removed.

Upon reassembly: only tighten the screws until you feel resistance and STOP. Or you will break and shatter the plastic....those parts are very expensive and fragile. There are at least two different screw types, so pay attention where you got what fastener.
