Trouble turning key

This is just an interesting problem I've been having. Its very random too. More of an annoyance than anything...
About one time in twenty, I will put the key in the ignition, and try to turn the key, but it simply won't turn. Eventually, I can fiddle with the key, and it will eventually turn. I was curious if anyone else has ever had this problem? Maybe my car is just *Special*

Sometimes the steering wheel is turned, and you need to turn the wheel to release pressure and get the steering wheel interlock to release so that you can turn the ignition key. Maybe this creates that one time in twenty, and it doesn't happen when you park with the wheels pointed straight ahead...?

This happens to me exactly the way you describe too. Once in awhile the key just "sticks". I thought it stuck due to the wheels being turned but they are straight. I still turn the wheels when it happens just to make sure there is no pressure on the ignition but it doesnt help. I hate forcing the key but it seems thats the only way to get it to turn. I wonder if its time to replace the ignition if it gets more common

Could your key itself be getting worn? You might try another key that hasn't been used much If you have one. I noticed the key that I use every day looks much more worn than the other one. Occasionally my drivers door won't let me turn the key.

Well, I feel better it isn't just me. It might be the key...its just odd that most of the time the key works fine, but when it doesn't work, it won't work even if I take the key out and put it back in a million times. Well, at least now there's a support group
