So Karl set about taking my old spare exhaust and new Flowmaster 80 series part# 42582 muffler and went home to build a jig so that he could do my exhaust without my car.
He opted to use 2.5" tube.
He left the tips for later and also in case there was some alignment work he had to do. Couple days later I get the call to come get it. So last nite we threw it in together with a couple of floor jacks and I haven't stopped smiling since.
Here are some pics and a youtube clip for now.
More to come.

He is ready to keep building them now that he has a jig.
Other things Karl does is Fight in the ring with MMA and build Dune Buggies.

"The police are on their way" I love it!

Nice going on the exhaust, Trev...Sounds like the SOS refresh went well.

Later,
Charles

That exhaust pitch is wicked nasty. Very nice, loud, raspy.....very F1 soundish.

Which muffler is that? Does you car still have the cats?
Do you friend (the very large friend) plan on making more? If so, how much would he charge?

Thanks,
Nathan

Interested to know if installed on an auto, will there be any lag in performance, on take off.
I am still running the original '91 exhaust and its begining to make strange noise.
Thanks

I installed that combo on my 96 auto, and now it'll catch 2nd, whereas before it didn't. Didn't notice any apparent power loss!

It appears Karl's excitement for this project has gone away.
It took him a while to come up with the price of $550.00 cdn.
I had to disagree with him on some of the build quality and what I expected and what others would be expecting.
So on that note, I predict we won;t make any for others.
Sorry bout that.
I just love the sound from this muffler as do all my V-8 friends.
It sure turns heads, expecially about he 4500 rpm mark.
It's fun to run around throttle'n between 3000 and 4000 rpm.
Quite a nice sound in there.
I can email anybody the high quality pics of the setup if they want them to take to a muffler shop to copy or for a guide.

New video with sound through a tunnel!

sorry to bring this back from the dead, but got an offer from an X NSX owner in Kansas about buying his Flowmaster. I seriously laughed at first until I heard how good they sound. My question is this how loud is the exhaust at cruising speed? any notable drone?

Sounds exactly like mine, no drone really, however mines loud as hell. Pretty nasty sounding, Id like to get a more refined tone.

well guy sold it to a local owner...oh well. Thanks for the replies. Wondering if I want to go this route or not.

what size piping do you have and other mods?

Looks like 2.5", came with my car when I bought it. Other than cat delete has no other exhaust related mods. Sounds fine in the car but I had a friend do a drive by so I could hear it and sounds more raspy than I would like.

The flowmaster really opens up the V6 sound but not really what I would expect the car to sound like when i see it.
