This last weekend, my car started to misbehave and is no longer drivable. Could you guys recommend a reputable auto transport outfit who could truck my car from San Jose to Comptech?

thx...

Never mind... Comptech said that they will use the same transporter they've used many times in the past.

Let us know what happens. What are the symptoms? (Not trying to do an e-diagnostic, just curious.)

In general, car acts like there's a fuel delivery or ignition issue. Here are the symptoms:

  1. Car starts and idles ok. However, when coming to a rolling stop, engine dies.
  2. Starting out in 1st, engine dies if giving it more throttle than what's needed to get it rolling.
  3. Cruising in 3 gear at 3000 RPM and shifting into 4th, engine dies. In fact, engine wants to die at any RPM under 3000 PPM, except at idle when car is sitting stationary.
  4. Problem seems to get worse the longer I run the car.
  5. There is no blackish smoke coming out of exhaust that would indicate over-rich A/F.
  6. I ran the car a week prior to last Saturday and used about 1/2 tank of gas. Weather was a little cooler the previous Saturday and car ran perfect. But this last Saturday, it was in the mid 80's. I'm still running with the same tank of gas.

I'm suspicious of the following:
  1. FPR
  2. Fuel Pump
  3. ACM
  4. ECU
  5. Contaminated gas
