when servicing a 6 spd do you guys also change the strainer . Honda uses this strainer on a lot of their manual transmissons , I spoke to some honda techs and got the "dear in the headlight responce". Any time I see a strainer on a tranny unit I always check it .:

You're not alone in checking the strainer. Kaz, one of the engineers who designed the NSX, wrote "As my standard procedure, whenever I drain the MTF, the strainer is removed and inspected." See this blog and there are many more like it on the NSX Club of Britain's website. I doubt many regular Honda / Acura mechanics do that, though, since the Service Manual doesn't list checking the transmission oil strainer as one of the items in the NSX's maintenance schedule.

Thanks guys ,I was wondering if I was the only one who saw this strainer . I know there is a magnet in the front half of the tranny housing but this is for ferrous debris (magnetic) , as our trannys use an oil pump it makes sense to put in a strainer to pickup non ferrous debris , mainly the brass from synchros .
